Our every day adventures

What do our ‘every day adventures’ look like?

Baby Room:

Our youngest explorers learn through using their senses. All of our toys are accessible for the shufflers, the crawlers and the ‘nearly-there’ walkers. We offer opportunities for messy play at their level, quite often getting completely covered! Babies are able to explore their environment independently, seeking out new challenges and learning lots along the way.

Our babies also build safe, secure relationships with key people and staff through interaction, singing, looking at books together and plenty of cuddles. Our baby unit has a dedicated kitchen and baby change room, so that all their needs are met quickly and in one familiar place.

Ones to twos

The change from baby to toddler is filled with exciting new discoveries! Our one to two year olds enjoy a combination of repetitive play and messy, sensory activities, testing their theories as they go along and exploring their senses. From paint to water, cornflour to cornflakes we have it covered! Children are supported as they learn and develop by practicing independence through washing hands and feeding themselves, and suitable risk taking in the big outdoors through climbing, jumping and splashing.

Twos to threes

Our two and three year olds spend their days having fun as they play and explore. The children enjoy singing their favourite nursery rhymes, listening to stories during group time, building friendships, developing independence and having the freedom to choose how their learning takes place.

Role play toys and puppets help your child to discover different aspects of daily life, whilst painting and craft masterpeices are proudly displayed around the walls (and worth more than an original Van Gogh in our opinion!).

Threes to fives

Our three to five year olds enjoy sharing and testing out ideas, which often means taking their learning outside. They love experiencing all weathers from jumping in rainy puddles to collecting snow; flying homemade kites to learning about shadows in sunny weather.

Our indoor area provides a rich learning environment where children can start to develop those key skills ready for school. We learn about the world around us through simple experiments and activities. Each year, we celebrate our oldest kids as we wave them off on their next adventure – we count it a privilege to invest in your child and set them up for school as best as possible.

Eating together as a daycare family

Food should be fun! The over twos children share lunch together in a spacious room, where the children can practise independence by serving their own food and learning to clear away after themselves. They talk about learning experiences with each other around the table. Staff eat with the children too and lunch is a fantastic highlight of our day!

LIFE Daycare kids aged one to four have immediate access to the play garden direct from their rooms, meaning no opportunity for fun in the sun (or rain!) is missed. This ‘free flow’ play garden access means your child can experience the outdoors and indoors at their own pace. Wellies and puddle suits are always on hand because we believe a rainy day is just as much fun as a sunny one!

Whether your little one fancies cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen, building a tower ‘as tall as the sky’ or testing out their balancing skills, our play garden has things ready and waiting. Life Daycare kids have opportunities all around them to take on new challenges or find a quiet spot to reflect on everything they’ve learnt.
